If I could only use three words to explain Salty, they would be “I LOVE HIM!” Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about this horse! Salty is super solid, reliable, handy as a multi-tool and trustworthy through and through. We have owned him for 3 years with no bad marks on his report card. We turned him out to pasture all winter and caught him in this spring to saddle, hop on and ride away easy as you please. I trust him to get us safely out of any sketchy situation, and know that he has a big heart to give me whatever I need. Salty is a ranch horse deluxe who is good at his job and doesn’t question it. He is great in the branding pen, solid to pasture doctor on, is really fun to sort horses and cows on, opens and closes gates on autopilot and is easy to ride one-handed. He has buttons, speed and grit when I need it, but a laidback and versatile disposition that is relaxing to trail ride on, too. He thinks before he steps and doesn’t get in a rush. Climbs like a mountaineer and rides out alone no questions asked! Salty knows how to ground tie, is super polite to shoe (I put a set on him myself), can pick you up off a fence panel and will stand tied all day.
