All are welcome to join us!
Our next horse sale will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2025
Public activities begin the day before, Friday, June 6th, when the gates open at 3:00 PM. Come and browse the arena to see the horses and watch them ride in an unofficial preview session throughout the afternoon. Diamond-McNabb and consignment riders will be at the arena grounds and are glad to answer your questions about individual horses. A barbecue dinner is served around 5:00 PM for approximately $20/plate while supplies hold out; with live cowboy music provided by Matt Robertson!
Doors will open about 8 o'clock. By 9:00 AM riders will start taking the sale horses through an official preview session. Concessions open at 8:00 AM and lunch will be available for $20 plate from the barbecue caterer beginning at 11:00 AM.
At 12:30 on Saturday the sale announcements are made and the first horse of the afternoon will be brought into the sale ring to open the sale at 1:00 PM. We expect to proceed directly through to the final horse without interruption. The sale is usually over by 6:00pm.
Throughout the public hours of the event, the Ken McNabb Horsemanship storefront in the arena facility will be open to offer you instructional materials, hand-chosen tack items and a selection of apparel. We will also have Diamond-McNabb logo items, western gifts and home items in the Powderhorn Ranch Gifts shop. Sunday morning, feel free to return to the arena for a 9:30 am Cowboy Church service and conversation with riders and guests as our annual event winds down. We look forward to seeing you!
Once again we expect to welcome Ty Thompson of Billings, MT to call the sale. Ty is a well-experienced, professional and reputable auctioneer. Among his credentials is the title of winning the Livestock Marketing Association's World Livestock Auctioneer Championship, and he is well-sought after in both the equine and livestock industries.
We do not allow reserve prices, 'no-sales' or 'pass outs' on horses over 3 years of age. You can bid with confidence knowing that all saddlehorses aged 4 and older WILL SELL to the highest bidder as long as the minimum bid of $2,000 has been met! Please be sure to read the terms and conditions of the sale in the official annual catalog, as well as the details of our Good Fit Guarantee, included in the Terms of the Sale. These terms apply to all bidders, even if you don't read them (so please read them). Thank you.
Internet bidding and telephone bidding will both be available- scroll down for more information! We find that it is best for people to attend in person but if you can't make it, we will do our best to help you locate and bid on a horse that fits you.
Online bidding will be hosted by DV Auction, which pairs a live video of the sale ring with an audio feed that you can watch and hear on your computer. If you would like to bid online on sale day, please pre-register at www.dvauction.com in advance of sale day. A link to the DVAuction registration page will be provided here in May of 2025. Registration is free and there are no additional fees for online bidders and buyers! More information can be found at www.DVAuction.com.
Phone bidding is accommodated through a live conference call that will be hosted by a representative who will help to keep you informed of the sale ring bidding and represent your phone bids as the horses sell through the auction. Phone bidders will need to PREREGISTER with us prior to sale weekend, using the link below. The registration fee is $10. Payment for horses purchased via phone will be settled after the auction, using a payment method of your choice. After you are registered, you will receive an email with your bidder number, plus detailed instructions on how to bid and what to expect.
